Can You Rely Purely on Self-Discipline to Succeed? 6

I made a video about self-discipline and success today.

After my last blog post, I had some emails saying “wow, you have  lot of self-discipline because I can’t miss my favorite TV shows”. That’s not an accurate statement.

The truth is, self-discipline is great to help you get started on your journey to success but its not the best companion because its not always dependable.

Hey, I’m human. I like watching movies too. So what I do is that I don’t have a TV in my home to start with (I’ve not had access to a TV for the last 5 years).  That way I do not have to fight with myself to focus on productive things like my family, my health and my income streams.

I must concede, that I do have a HD projector and a DVD player for watching inspiring movies. But the best part of that set up is that I get to choose WHEN I watch and WHAT I watch.

Anyway, I  hope you like this video where I share my secret strategy for making sure that I always do the right things towards my goals.

Hi!

You are so right!!I have conscience that not defining objective goals and have an organized plan to achive them is confusing my entire life. Television distracts me from this thought and it’s like flying over life, instead of living it. I’ve noticed that when I don’t watch television, I’m more inspired and do things in an accurate way.

It’s incredible how we have the answers but allways find excuses to continue to act allways the same way.

Thank you for this warning :)

Hi Brian,
–5 STARS
Very Nice, and you make a very good point (about controling our environment).
I really liked your TWO POINTS, Have Specific Knowledge and TAKE ACTION.
I am trying to find my “Cookie Cutter” but I think I am getting closer. My “Mind Movie” has really helped me visualize on what I want from life. (Its on my blog, can you find it?).
Looking forward to learning MUCH more from you.
Thanks Much!

A while back I used to think, for sure just host parties and let people hang out. It’s fun to have company.

But the company ended up being someone I wasn’t on the best terms with and it got repetitive to the point where they could just come and go as they pleased.

So I locked everything down and said “naw, sorry, I have to be there too”.

Then things changed! It was like was said. Once you have your environment actually supporting you, then you work like half as hard and achieve at least twice as much.

Everytime you have a reminder of your personal failure it’s a shocking blow. Take it away and the equation changes.

I think that’s why Fung Shui is THOUSANDS of years old.
